Club Deportivo Condal was a Spanish football club from Barcelona . The club was founded in 1934 under the name SD España Industrial , renamed CD Condal in 1956 and dissolved in 1970 in order to found the new club FC Barcelona Atlètic together with Atlètic Catalunya .
history
On August 1, 1934, Sección Deportiva La España Industrial and a sports department with the same name were founded. The company was owned by Josep Antoni de Albert, who was briefly president of FC Barcelona in 1943 . During de Albert's presidency, the club, now known as Club Deportivo Espanya Industrial, became the reserve team of FC Barcelona. At the beginning, the club played in regional leagues and played its home games at Camp de Les Cortes .
In 1950 they rose to the Tercera División for the first time and only two years later they rose to the Segunda División . In the 1952/53 season they qualified for promotion to the Primera División , but since the team was the second team of FC Barcelona, the team was denied promotion.
In the 1956/57 season, the club again reached second place in the Segunda División and won the subsequent relegation to the Primera División. As a result, the club spun off under the name CD Condal from FC Barcelona in order to be eligible for the first division. After just one season, CD Condal had to relegate bottom of the table from the Primera División.
In 1968 they rejoined FC Barcelona and became their reserve team again.
In 1970, the president of FC Barcelona, Agustí Montal decided CD Condal and the Youth Team Atlètic Catalunya together and from FC Barcelona Atlètic, now called FC Barcelona B to start.
