Josep Maria Fusté Blanch (born April 15, 1941 in Linyola , Lleida ) is a former Spanish football player .

Career

Fusté joined FC Barcelona at the age of 12 . In 1959 he switched to CD Condal. The midfielder returned to FC Barcelona after only two years, but was loaned from there to CA Osasuna for one season , for which he also played his first league game in the 1961/62 season. In his ten years at Barça, he never won the Spanish championship. He had to be satisfied with three Copa del Rey triumphs and four runners-up in the Primera División . In addition, the team won the trade fair trophy in 1966 and 1971 . In 1972 Fusté Hércules joined Alicante . After he led Alicante in the 1973/74 season for promotion to the Primera División, he ended his career.

He made his debut for the Spanish national team on March 11, 1964 in a 5-1 win over Ireland . In 1964, Fusté won the European Championship with Spain , where he participated in the semifinals and finals.

He also took part in the 1966 World Cup. There he played a game in the group stage against Germany , which, although he scored a goal, was lost 2-1, which was equivalent to the elimination of Spain.
