The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches on the edge of the Regional Nature Park Millevaches en Limousin .

Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 90 kilometers southwest, Ussel about 20 kilometers southwest and Clermont-Ferrand about 65 kilometers east.

Neighboring communities of Feyt are Saint-Merd-la-Breuille in the north, Laroche-près-Feyt in the northeast, Bourg-Lastic in the southeast, Monestier-Merlines in the southwest and Eygurande in the west.
