Rosiers-d'Égletons is a French commune with 1,070 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants call themselves Rosiérois (es).
geography
The community is located in the Massif Central on the upper reaches of the Montane and is surrounded by extensive forests and fields. Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 25 kilometers southwest and Égletons about 5 kilometers northeast and Ussel about 34 kilometers northeast.
Neighboring municipalities of Rosiers-d'Égletons are Saint-Yrieix-le-Déjalat in the north, Égletons in the northeast, Moustier-Ventadour in the east, Chapelle-Spinasse and Montaignac-Saint-Hippolyte in the south, Eyrein in the southwest, Vitrac-sur-Montane in the West and Sarran in the northwest.
history
The municipality was already settled in prehistoric times, as numerous worked flint finds show. Relics from the Gallic - Roman period are also proven. Overtaken in importance by Égletons today, Rosiers-d'Égletons was the capital of a viguerie around 937 .
