Chavanac ( Chavanac in Occitan ) is a French municipality with 51 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants call themselves Chavanacois (es).

geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and therefore also in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park .

Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 70 kilometers southwest, Égletons about 30 kilometers southwest and Ussel about 25 kilometers southeast.

Neighboring municipalities of Chavanac are Millevaches in the north, Saint-Sulpice-les-Bois in the east, Meymac in the south and Saint-Merd-les-Oussines in the west.

The place is on the right bank of the upper reaches of the Vézère .
