Eygurande ( Eiguranda in Occitan ) is a French municipality with 685 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine .

geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Millevaches Plateau in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park, not far from the Chavanon , a tributary of the Dordogne .

Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 85 kilometers southwest, Ussel about 20 kilometers southwest and Clermont-Ferrand about 65 kilometers northeast.

Neighboring municipalities of Eygurande are Saint-Merd-la-Breuille in the north, Feyt in the north-east and east, Monestier-Merlines in the south-east, Merlines in the south, Aix in the south-west, Lamazière-Haute in the west and Saint-Oradoux-de-Chirouze in the north-west.

The place is about twelve kilometers northeast of exit 24 of the A89 autoroute . The Gare d'Eygurande-Merlines train station in Merlines , three kilometers away , has been closed since 2014.

Description : The coat of arms is quartered , field one in red three oblique, golden bars , field two on gold three black rafters , field three in red three gold five-pointed stars and in field four on silver a red lion and the applied heart shield is red and gold shaft .

A sign divided into red and gold in a checkered pattern is a reference to the House of Ventadour .
