Mestes ( Mestas in Occitan ) is a French municipality with 355 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine .

geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central south of the Plateau de Millevaches and the Regional Nature Park Millevaches en Limousin on the right bank of the Diège , a right tributary of the Dordogne .

Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 60 kilometers southwest, Ussel about 6 kilometers north and Bort-les-Orgues about 20 kilometers southeast.

Neighboring municipalities of Mestes are Ussel in the north, Saint-Exupéry-les-Roches in the east, Chirac-Bellevue in the south and Valiergues and Saint-Angel in the west.
