geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central west of the Dordogne and therefore not far from the border with the Cantal department .

Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is located about 70 kilometers southwest, Ussel about 12 kilometers northwest and Bort-les-Orgues about 16 kilometers southwest.

Neighboring municipalities of Saint-Bonnet-près-Bort are Saint-Étienne-aux-Clos in the north, Thalamy in the east, Margerides and Saint-Victour in the south, Veyrières in the southwest and Saint-Exupéry-les-Roches in the west.
