Saint-Etienne church

Lapleau ( La pleu in Occitan ) is a French municipality with 381 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality is the seat of the community association Ventadour-Égletons-Monédières and part of the canton of Égletons .

geography

The community is located in the Massif Central , on the Luzège River , around three kilometers south of the Barrage de la Luzège dam and is surrounded by extensive forests. Tulle , the prefecture of the department is about 40 kilometers to the west and Égletons about 15 kilometers to the northwest and Ussel about 35 kilometers to the northeast.

Neighboring municipalities of Lapleau are Lamazière-Basse in the north, Saint-Pantaléon-de-Lapleau in the northeast, Soursac in the east, Laval-sur-Luzège in the south and Saint-Hilaire-Foissac in the west.
