Lestards ( Lestaurs in Occitan ) is a French municipality with 106 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine .

geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park and is traversed by the Alembre , a left tributary of the Vézère .

Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 37 kilometers slightly southwest, Égletons about 22 kilometers southeast and Ussel about 50 kilometers east.

Neighboring municipalities of Lestards are Saint-Hilaire-les-Courbes in the north, Viam in the northeast, Gourdon-Murat in the east, Pradines in the southeast and Treignac in the west.

The Lac de Viam is about ten kilometers north of Lestards.

The place is about 25 kilometers northwest of exit 22 of the A89 autoroute .

history

Around 1300 there was a commander of the Antonite Order in Lestards. The coming ones took care of health care in the region.
