The canton of Argentat is a French canton in the department of Corrèze and the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It includes 30 communities in the arrondissements of Brive-la-Gaillarde and Tulle and has its main town (French: bureau centralisateur ) in Argentat . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly expanded in spring 2015.
Communities
The canton consists of 30 municipalities with a total of 11,874 inhabitants (as of 2017) on a total area of 642.55 km 2 :
- ↑ Only the area of the former municipality of Argentat , the rest belongs to the canton of Sainte-Fortunade .
Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Argentat included the eleven municipalities of Albussac , Argentat , Forgès , Monceaux-sur-Dordogne , Ménoire , Neuville , Saint-Bonnet-Elvert , Saint-Chamant , Saint-Hilaire-Taurieux , and Saint -Martial-Entraygues and Saint-Sylvain . Its layout corresponded to an area of 182.66 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 1901.
