The canton of Ayen is a former French canton in the Corrèze department and in what was then the Limousin region . It comprised eleven parishes in the Arrondissement of Brive-la-Gaillarde ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Ayen . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. Gérard Bonnet ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département for the years 2004–2015 .
