Objat ( Occitan Ajac ) is a French municipality with 3640 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Corrèze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Objat belongs to the Arrondissement of Brive-la-Gaillarde and the Canton of L'Yssandonnais . The municipality is a member of the Communauté d'agglomération du Bassin de Brive . The inhabitants are called Objatoi (es) .
geography
The municipality is located in the Massif Central about 15 kilometers northwest of Brive-la-Gaillarde on the Loyre River . Objat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Solve in the north, Voutezac in the northeast, Allassac in the southeast, Saint-Aulaire in the southwest, Vars-sur-Roseix in the west and Saint-Cyr-la-Roche in the northwest.
The former route nationale 701 (today's D901) runs through the municipality .
