Noailhac ( Occitan Noalhac ) is a French commune with 378 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Corrèze department on the western edge of the Massif Central . The inhabitants call themselves Noailhacois (es).
geography
Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 35 kilometers northeast, Brive-la-Gaillarde about 15 kilometers northwest and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne about 25 kilometers southeast.
The Loyre , a left tributary of the Corrèze , has its source in the municipality.

Neighboring municipalities to Noailhac are Lanteuil in the north, Lagleygeolle in the northeast, Collonges-la-Rouge in the east, Ligneyrac in the south and Turenne in the southwest and west.

history
Originally the town only consisted of a small castle and a church and came into the possession of the Vicomtes de Turenne in the 13th century . Through this transfer of ownership, the community was also attached to the castellany of Collonges. At the request of the Viscount, the village came under the care of the Famille d'Astorg . In 1738, after the fall of the Turenne family, the Dukes of Noailles bought the place.

Attractions
- The Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens church , a religious building from the 12th and 15th centuries, has been classified as a monument historique since February 6, 1923. The south facade of the building is particularly interesting, because an impressive crowd watch tower protrudes from there.
- The Château de Lacoste , a castle from the 15th, 17th and 18th centuries, has been classified as a monument historique since May 16, 1972.
