QRF Association
A QRF Association was faster than Eingreifverband (Quick Reaction Force), the operational reserve of the commander of a regional responsibility zone (Regional Area Command, RAC) of the ISAF in Afghanistan .
assignment
The use of the QRF association could become necessary in a wide range of operations, from reconnaissance missions, patrols or protection of convoys to control of violent crowds or evacuation measures to the fight against militant forces. The association therefore not only consisted of combat troops with armored wheeled vehicles and armored personnel carriers , the association also included specialists in order to defuse ordnance such as land mines or booby traps, to instruct helicopters or to manage the operations of combat aircraft .
If the situation required it, the QRF association could also be divided into individual units, which then each had the full capabilities as so-called task units .
The association also provided training support and support for the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF).

The commander of the Regional Command North (RC North), Major General Hans-Werner Fritz, put the first training and protection battalion (ASB) into service in Kunduz at the beginning of August 2010 . At the same time he subordinated the two infantry companies, the reconnaissance company and parts of the support forces of the regional reconstruction team (PRT) Kunduz to the ASB. The second ASB in Mazar-e-Sharif was put into service on November 1, 2010, replacing the QRF.
In 2014 a new QRF was set up due to the restructuring of all associations in the entire RC North. A new restructuring took place in mid-July and the QRF then consisted of only one company that was incorporated into the MES support association. This was provided from July 2014 by the Panzergrenadierlehrbataillon 92 from Munster.
