A patrol is a form of combat service. It is to be distinguished from the patrol . The strength varies from a squad to a reinforced platoon . Orders can be to cover a specified distance, to reach an object, to occupy a position or to carry out an exploration. The duration can vary from a few hours to days, depending on the type of assignment.

Types of use

A reconnaissance patrol in one's own operating room, but also in enemy-penetrated areas, is to be separated from the patrol or patrol ; it has the task of gaining information on the situation about the enemy.
