Fessine dolmen

The dolmen of Fessine is located in Saint-Jean-des-Marais, west of La Meignanne , near Angers in the Maine-et-Loire department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The Neolithic dolmen of Fessine consists of two chambers marked by a lateral dividing stone in a burial mound about 30 meters long. The dolmen is narrow and high. It is unclear whether it is a "Dolmen angevin".

There is evidence that the Brionneau Valley has been inhabited for 10,000 years.

Remarks

  1. The dolmen angevin is an allée couverte of the Loire type with a (retracted) trilith portal as an entrance, like the dolmen de la Pierre Folle in Bournand.
