Kædeby Dolmen

Kædeby Dolmen

In a field, about 300 m south of the road through Kædeby, lies the Kædeby dolmen with a chamber of impressive size.

The chamber of the dolmen at Humble gives more than other prehistoric monuments on the Danish island of Langeland an impression of the skills of the builders of the funnel cup culture (TBK) around 5000 years ago.

The chamber consists of four head-high supporting stones, three of which are still upright. The enormous capstone rests on it, slightly shifted, on the upper side of which there are about 50 more or less distinct bowls . The presumed polygonal dolmen is reminiscent of Cornish portal tombs . Excavations were not made.

Nearby is Kong Humbles Grav .
