Dolmen of Men Maria
The dolmen of Men Maria (also called Port aux Moines) is located near Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys at the small port "Port des Moines" ( German "Monk's Harbor " ) near the coast in a modern stone enclosure on the Rhuys peninsula in the department Morbihan in Brittany in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
The shape of the dolmen is somewhat unusual, probably also as a result of human interference. A roughly 3.0 m long and 1.5 m wide rectangular capstone rests on the only three remaining bearing stones. Below and next to the capstone there are eight other stones, three of which form a U that could belong to an antechamber.
