The Rødtangen dolmen (also called Bråtan) is located near the sea in Asker municipality in the Viken province in Norway . Finds, including fragments of well-known ceramic types, date the complex to the middle phase of the funnel beaker culture (TBK). But also flakes of flint and slate objects that reflect local influences were found .

The dolmen is very similar to the Swedish dolmen of Haga . Today it consists of two higher and two chipped stone slabs that form an irregular square. The capstone has run out. A ring of smaller stones marks the outer boundaries of the hill that originally covered the dolmen. Two long stones mark the entrance. The dolmen was excavated, but only a few pieces of flint were found. Amber beads , some arrowheads and pottery were found in another, abandoned dolmen nearby . Ceramic remains have also been found in the Skjeltorp dolmen in Østfold .

Rødtangen is one of only five dolmens in Norway, all of which are close to the border with Sweden. Four of them were in the former Buskerud Province , but only two have survived. Rødtangen is the only dolmen that still stands in its original place.

The nearby Gravrøys from Rødtangen has a diameter of 15 to 20 m and a height of 2 to 3 m. In the middle you can see the exposed and opened stone box . The tomb is not dated, but based on other barrows in the area, it is believed to have originated in the Bronze Age or earlier Iron Age .

Nearby are the Røysene Rosen .
