The Dolores River rises in southwest Colorado near Dolores Peak and Mount Wilson in the San Miguel Mountains . It flows south-west until it turns north after Dolores . Before the Dolores River Canyon opens San Miguel River into the river. It flows into the Colorado River near Fisher Towers in Grand County , Utah.
