Dolphin Drilling (formerly Fred. Olsen Energy) is a Norwegian operator of drilling platforms and vessels in the offshore sector with headquarters in Oslo .

The company was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 1997. The company's shares were temporarily listed in the OBX Index on the Oslo Stock Exchange .

The largest shareholders in Fred. Olsen Energy was the holding company Bonheur and Ganger Rolf, which until the merger of Ganger Rolf with Bonheur each held 29.51% in Fred. Olsen Energy owned. Bonheur belongs to the Fred group of companies . Olsen & Co. , which is controlled by the Olsen family.

At the end of 2018, the company's name was changed from Fred. Changed Olsen Energy to Dolphin Drilling. The company filed for bankruptcy in June 2019. In the same June, the holding company SVP Global became the new main shareholder of Dolphin Drilling. SVP Global continued to assume debt claims against Dolphin in the amount of over 670 million euros. SVP Global then announced that it was now the owner of the company together with the other creditors, Danske Bank , DNB , SEB and Swedbank . As part of the restructuring, Dolphin Drilling plans to relocate its headquarters to Aberdeen .

The company operates three drilling platforms and one drilling ship. Dolphin Drilling has locations in Stavanger (Norway), Aberdeen (UK), Singapore , Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), The Woodlands (USA) and Accra (Ghana).
