Dominicus cold

Dominicus Kalt (born March 6, 1804 in Herschbach , † January 1, 1887 in Bonn ) was a German doctor.

Life

After graduating from high school in Bonn in 1820, Dominicus Kalt studied medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1820 he became a member of the Corps Rhenania Bonn . In 1825 he was promoted to Dr. med. doctorate, in 1826 he passed the state examination. In the same year he became a general practitioner in Burgwaldniel near Dülken . In 1832 he settled in Bonn. In 1861 he was appointed to the medical council. During the Franco-Prussian War he was chief physician of the hospital in the Sterntorkaserne in Bonn.

Kalt was a member of the medical examination committee and president of the Bonn Hospital Association. In this function he was responsible for founding the St. Johannes Hospital in Bonn. He was a co-founder and 1st chairman of the Bonn doctors 'association and president of the doctors' association in the Cologne administrative district and also held many other honorary positions.

On a trip to Rome in 1878, Kalt was the personal physician of the Princess von Thurn und Taxis . He was married to Josephine Bodifée, who had 13 children.
