Dominique Antoine

Dominique Jules-Antoine (born January 26, 1845 in Metz , † January 1, 1917 in Nancy ) was a German veterinarian and a member of the Reichstag .

Life

Antoine studied veterinary medicine and became a veterinarian in Sierk and later in Metz. In 1870 he was wounded as a lieutenant in the mobile guard in the war against Germany . He later became a member of the Academy of Metz and was entrusted with public tasks by the government of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine . In 1875 he became a member of the Metz municipal council and in 1878 of the regional committee of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine .

On December 17, 1882, he was elected as a member of the Reichstag in a replacement election for the constituency of Alsace-Lorraine 14 (Metz), but never attended the Reichstag. Nevertheless, he was re-elected in 1884 and 1887. In 1886 an indictment of high treason failed before the Imperial Court. In the spring of 1887 he was expelled from the Reich and went to Luxembourg . On March 11, 1889, he resigned his seat in the Reichstag and emigrated to France. He was a Catholic denomination.
