Dominique Aplogan

Dominique Aplogan (born April 25, 1913 in Abomey , French Dahomey , † November 3, 1989 ) was a politician of the Republic of Dahomey , who held various ministerial posts.

Life

Dominique Aplogan came from a chief family and received medical training. After the previous colony of French Dahomey had gained autonomy on December 4, 1958, he began his political career and was a member of the National Assembly between 1959 and 1960. In February 1962 he was appointed to the government by Coutoucou Hubert Maga , who had been the first President of the now independent Republic of Dahomey since August 1, 1960 , as State Secretary for African-Malagasy Affairs. In 1963 he served as Minister of Post and Telecommunications in the Maga government. In the government of President Christophe Soglo, he held the post of Minister of State for Defense for two months in 1967 and was then Minister of Post and Telecommunications again until December 1967, as well as Minister of Public Works and Transport of the Soglo government.
