from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Domitia Decidiana († after 98) was a Roman nobleman of the first century AD.

Life

Domitia Decidiana was probably the daughter of the Senator Titus Domitius Decidianus , who came from Gallia Narbonensis , and around 62 AD was the wife of the Roman Senator Gnaeus Iulius Agricola († 93 AD) , who had just returned from Britain . She traveled with her husband when administrative or military duties led him to various provinces of the empire. The happy marriage resulted in two sons (born in 63 and 83 AD, but who died as small children) and a daughter Iulia Agricola (* 64 AD), whom the Roman historian Cornelius Tacitus 77 AD. Married. In his will, Agricola named his wife, daughter and Emperor Domitian as heirs. Domitia Decidiana was still alive when Tacitus wrote a biography of his late father-in-law in AD 98, which is also the only source of her life.
