It is located on the west side of Domstrasse in downtown Merseburg. Immediately to the south, the cathedral pharmacy , which is also listed, is adjacent to the Rautenkranz .
Architecture and history
The building that determines the street scene is part of the cathedral curia of Merseburg Cathedral . It was created according to an inscription plaque under construction in 1573, on the site of a destroyed previous building. An arcade is located in front of the two-wing building on the ground floor facing Domstraße . Noteworthy is a portal with ear flaps , the door leaves are lavishly carved. Extensive changes were made during the Baroque period , and in 1939 the building was reconstructed in the style of the time.
In the local register of monuments , the curia is listed as an architectural monument under registration number 094 20148 .
