Strut braces or strut braces are used in car construction to stiffen a body . Strut struts are often retrofitted to increase the torsional strength of the body. This can be necessary if changes to the chassis (e.g. the use of harder springs) increase the load on the body. The use of strut braces ex works is less common. However, these can sometimes be selected for vehicles without a fixed roof structure ( convertible or roadster ).

The strut connects the two front or rear strut domes and thus prevents the position of the domes relative to one another and thus the geometry of the chassis from changing. Signs of warping in the lane are reduced - driving behavior, especially when cornering, is better and more direct.

Struts are exempt from registration in Germany and now also in Austria.

Strut braces are also installed ex works in some rare cases. Examples of this would be the BMW M2 CS, the Nissan 350Z , the Honda Accord and the Peugeot 406 Coupé V6, which each have a spring bridge connection on the front and rear axles.
