Donald Buddo
Donald Smith "Don" Buddo (born November 6, 1886 in Montreal , Québec , † July 27, 1965 in London , Ontario ) was a Canadian athlete.
Career
Buddo started for Canada at the 1908 Olympic Games in London . In the 400-meter run, he finished second behind the French Géo Malfait in an estimated time of 51.2 seconds . This performance was insufficient to qualify for the semi-finals. Buddo also missed out on progressing over 800 meters as third. Furthermore, Buddo was part of the Canadian Olympic relay team (together with Frank Lukemann , Lou Sebert and Irving Parkes ), which also did not get beyond the preliminary round.
His personal best over 400 meters was 51.9 seconds and comes from 1909. Over twice the distance he achieved his fastest time in 1908 with 1: 57.9 minutes.
In 1965 he was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame .
