Don Tapscott

Don Tapscott CM (born June 1, 1947 in Toronto ) is a Canadian entrepreneur, professor of management at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and author.

Tapscott is the founder (1993) and chairman of the business strategy think tank nGenera Insight (formerly New Paradigm ).

In his best-known book Wikinomics : The Revolution in the Net , he describes how and why the working methods of traditional companies are challenged by the use of the principles of Web 2.0 in companies ( Enterprise 2.0 ). However, anyone who wants to take advantage of the less costly approach has to question their entire business model and make large parts of the valuable corporate knowledge openly available.

He has published twelve books, his 2008 book Grown Up Digital (2008) deals with the thinking and procedures of the digital generation (" digital natives ").
