Don Tjungurrayi

Don Tjungurrayi (* 1939 in Yupurirri ) is an Australian Aboriginal painter . He belongs to the group of Warlpiri .

At first he worked as a drover on various farms. He did not begin to paint until the late 1970s. In 1986 he won the Alice Springs Art Prize. His paintings are exhibited in the Art Gallery of Western Australia ( Perth ), Artbank ( Sydney ) and the Kelton Foundation ( Los Angeles ).
