Donatas Katkus (born September 21, 1942 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian musician, alto , conductor and musicologist .

Life

He studied at the Juozas Naujalis Music School in Kaunas. In 1965 he graduated from Lietuvos valstybinė konservatorija . From 1968 he taught at the Lietuvos muzikos ir teatro akademija as a professor . In 1965 he founded the Vilnius String Quartet , in 1995 the Christophorus Chamber Orchestra and was its director. He was the conductor of the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra . From 2007 to 2010 he was a member of the commission in the music show "Žvaigždžių duetai" at the LNK television channel , and in 2009 he was commission head of the humor show "No. 1".
