Christophorus Chamber Orchestra
The St. Christophorus Chamber Orchestra (lit. Šv. Kristoforo kamerinis orkestras ) is a chamber orchestra founded in 1994 in Vilnius ( Lithuania ). Since 1995 it has been one of the main organizers of the Kristupas Summer Music Festival . Since 1997 it has been a Vilnius City Orchestra. Donatas Katkus is the founder, conductor and artistic director .
Musician
The orchestra was conducted by Dennis Russell Davies , Juha Kang , Stefan Fraas , Rinaldo Alessandrini and Jonas Aleksa .
With the orchestra played the violinists Jacques Israelievitch , Moti Shmit , Anton Barachovsky , Raimundas Katilius , Rusnė Mataitytė , the flautists Jean Ferrandis , Bonita Boid , Robert Aitken , Carsten Hustedt , Michala Petri , the cellists Dominique de Williencourt , Maria Kliegel , and the marimbist Linda Maxey and the pianists Caroline Sageman , Tamami Honma , Petras Geniušas , Jan Krzysztof Broja .
It made guest appearances in Estonia , Finland , Poland , Germany , France , Sweden , Spain .
