Donatas Morkūnas

Donatas Morkūnas (born April 17, 1957 in Druskininkai ) is a Lithuanian politician.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1975 in Druskininkai, he completed his diploma in history at the Vilniaus universitetas in 1980 and from 1984 to 1987 the postgraduate degree at the University of Minsk . From 1980 to 1989 he taught at the Šiaulių pedagoginis institutas and from 1989 to 1990 he worked at Lietuvos komunistų partija in Šiauliai . From 1990 to 1992 the Deputat in the Seimas , from 1992 to 1993 adviser to Seimas, from 1993 to 1994 senior advisor to the President of Lithuania . From 1995 to 1999 he was director of the Zokniai branch of AB “ Šiaulių bankas ”. In 2006 he was an advisor to the Prime Minister.

Morkūnas was a member of Lietuvos Persitvarkymo Sąjūdis . From 1991 to 1992 he was a member of Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga and from 1992 to 1996 LSDP .
