The Dongfeng Fengxing Joyear X5 is an SUV produced by the Chinese automobile manufacturer Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor , which is part of the Dongfeng Motor Corporation . The brand is Dongfeng , the sub-brand is Fengxing.

The first generation vehicle is based on Nissan's C platform , on which the first generation of the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Koleos are also based. The X5 debuted as Dongfeng Fengxing Joyear SUV at the 2011 Guangzhou Auto Show and has been on the market in China since 2011. A revision in 2013 was accompanied by a name change to Joyear X5.
Dongfeng Fengxing offers two gasoline engines for the SUV, a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.8-liter turbo engine .

The second generation Joyear X5 debuted at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show and went on sale in China shortly afterwards.
The second generation is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine with 110 kW (150 PS), a 1.6-liter petrol engine with 90 kW (122 PS) or a two-liter petrol engine with 108 kW (147 PS) .
