Dono Doni (also Adone Doni ; * after 1500 in Assisi ; † 1575 there ) was a famous Italian painter of the Renaissance . He came from a family of artists and was mainly active in Umbria ( Foligno , Gubbio , Spoleto , Perugia , Spello and Assisi).

According to Ludovico di Pietralunga , he received his training from Giovanni di Pietro , known as Lo Spagna. In 1530 he received an amount of money documented by a receipt for fresco paintings in S. Giacomo near Spoleto , in the same year he also worked in Assisi in the Palazzo Pubblico . After that he received numerous orders.

In 1550 he is in Rome and paints a Madonna with saints in the church of SS Giovanni e Paolo al Celio . In the same year he painted The Last Supper in the dining room of the monastery of San Francesco in Assisi . He painted another work, the Immaculate Conception , for the Church of S. Francesco in Perugia (now in the Pinacoteca Nazionale ). From 1561 to 1562 he painted some stained glass windows in the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi, in which he also painted frescoes (in the chapel of St. Stephen). Pictures of him can also be found in the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli (Assisi) (Crucifixion), in the Cathedral of San Rufino (Jesus Christ in Glory with Saints and Lamentation of Christ), in the Monastery of S. Anna in Foligno (Birth of Christ), im Gubbio Cathedral (walk to Golgotha ), in the Rocca Paolina in Perugia (story of St. Paulus of Tarsus), in the Terni Cathedral (walk to Golgotha), and several other places in Spello and Spoleto.
