The Bettelwurfhütte (the tenants' spelling: Bettelwurf Hütte ) is an Alpine Club hut of the Austrian Alpine Club at 2077  m above sea level. A. Height on the south side of the Great Beggar Throw . The refuge is located in the Karwendel in Tyrol high above the Hall valley not far from Hall in Tirol .

history

The inauguration of the Beggar Throw Hut on September 8, 1894. Behind the small and large Beggar Throw

The construction of the Bettelwurfhütte was initiated between 1891 and 1893 by the Innsbruck mountain pioneer Julius Pock . After the hut was exhibited at the Tyrolean State Exhibition in Innsbruck in 1893, it was transported to its destination in 1894 and rebuilt there. The originally very small hut was initially operated as a self-catering hut and was not managed until 1902. In 1904 the hut was expanded to include a sleeping house. Further modernizations were the construction of a generator in 1964, the construction of a material ropeway in 1966 and the modern sanitary wing in 2003.

ways

Because of the panoramic location and the attractive tour options, the hut is a popular base for mountaineers on longer tours in the southern Karwendel. In addition, day guests from the Halltal can also cope with the Hüttenweg and, after a rest, easily descend on the same day. The Bettelwurfhütte is primarily an important base on the Innsbrucker Höhenweg , which leads here from the Hafelekarspitze via the Pfeishütte . In winter, an unlocked, heated winter room is available for ski tourers, but conditions must be safe from avalanches in order to be able to undertake worthwhile ski tours safely in the vicinity of the hut . The hut was the goal of the "Bettelwurf Run ", an annual mountain run that was held until 2012. This was carried out from Absam to the hut.
