The Hallerangerhaus (not to be confused with the undertaking in the immediate vicinity Hallerangerhaus-Alm) is a mountain hut the section Schwaben of the German Alpine Club in 1768  m above sea level. A. meter height in the Kohlerboden at the foot of the Speckkarspitze and Kleinem Lafatscher . The shelter is located in the heart of the Karwendel in Tyrol , nestled between the Hinterautal-Vomper chain and the Gleirsch-Halltal chain .

Because of its central location and the numerous tour options, the hut is an excellent base for mountaineers for multi-day activities in the Karwendel. In addition, day guests from Scharnitz through the Hinterautal can cope with the route to the hut by mountain bike and, after a rest, can easily return on the same day. In winter there is an unlocked, heatable room in the adjacent building for ski tourers, but conditions must be safe from avalanches in order to be able to go on worthwhile ski tours in the vicinity of the hut . The Lafatscher Bach , the longest source brook on the Isar, rises a few meters above the house .

history

Hallerangerhaus before 1913

The hut, first built in 1901 on Kohlerboden, was destroyed by an avalanche in 1914. Immediately afterwards, a new building above the old location in an avalanche-safe place began. However, the new hut could only be officially opened in the summer of 1924 after the chaos of the First World War. In 1964 a new dining room was added, and in 1972 the power supply was modernized. In the eighties, the old Mulistall was converted into a winter room and a tenant apartment was set up. The problem of sanitation could be solved. There are shower facilities available. In 2017 the house was extended by an extension and a sun terrace.
