The Doolittle Massif is a compact mountain range consisting of several peaks in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the northwestern Churchill Mountains , it rises between the Zeller and Sefton glaciers , where they flow into the Byrd glacier . The massif is 16 km long and has its highest elevation with the 2050 m high Mount Rainbow .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2003 after General James Harold Doolittle (1896-1993) of the United States Air Force , who had visited McMurdo Station in 1962 and had participated as a pilot in Operation Highjump in January 1946 .
