Twin wire
In the double wire (abbreviated to DA , CuDA or CuDa ) is a line of two individual cores (insulated wires ), the conductor material usually made of copper ( Cu exists). The two individual wires are either together ( twisted pair ) or with further wires twisted (for example, star quad ).
The twist ensures that interference voltages caused by inductive coupling cancel each other out almost completely. This can prevent crosstalk . Up to 2000 twin cores can be combined in cables ; this is called pair stranding if they are each twisted in pairs. Often four single cores are twisted together to form a star quad, so that two cross-twisted twin cores are created. Twisted wires can also be laid individually in installation pipes or as routing .
The twin wire serves as a transmission medium for analog or digital signals in communication technology . For example, in the telephone network of analog switching technology, the subscriber connection line consists of a pair of wires.
Paired wires are usually used unshielded in telecommunications . In computer technology they are often shielded .
