Nürnberger Strasse 36/38

The semi-detached house Nürnberger Straße 36/38 was a pair of apartment buildings in Dresden , in the Südvorstadt district . It was built in 1906 by the architects Linke & Leukert . The builder was the master stonemason Karl Welsch. The construction costs amounted to 210,000 marks . (corresponds to approx. 1.3 million euros in 2020)

Far cantilevered balconies and arbors combined the two upper floors. The three-storey facade was presented with four-storey, flat projecting risalits , which had a gable at the top. The facade was with Elbsandstein blinded : the basement with yellow sandstone, ground and upper floors with white Cotta sandstone . The wrought-iron balustrade and the consoles of the upper open balconies were painted blue. The roof surfaces were covered with red glazed beaver tails .

In 1945 the building was destroyed. The former location of the double house was initially not built on again after the war and remained as a densely overgrown wasteland. From the end of 2017, a residential and commercial building was built here, which is structurally connected to the student dormitory in the east.
