The Nuremberg street is a four-lane road in Dresden . It is part of the outer city ring .

history

From 1900 to 1905, the Dresden construction company built upper-class houses on Nürnberger Straße. Originally a sacred building was to be built on Nürnberger Straße near Liebigstraße, for which an oval square, today's Nürnberger Egg , was created.

Development

Apartment building Nürnberger Strasse 49

The buildings at Nürnberger Straße 26–30b, destroyed in 1945, were built in 1906 by the architects Linke & Leunert for master stonemason Karl Welsch in Art Nouveau style.

The tenement house at Nürnberger Strasse 32 was built from 1903 for master plumber Adolp Schultze based on designs by Oskar Richter. It is an Art Nouveau building that shows “a high-quality sandstone facade” despite “all restraint”.

The semi-detached house at Nürnberger Straße 36/38 , which was destroyed in 1945 , was also built by Linke & Leunert for Karl Welsch in 1906. Cantilevered balconies, arbours , flat projecting risalits and gables adorned the facade.

The semi-detached house Nürnberger Straße 47 / Hübnerstraße 15 is a four-storey Art Nouveau building with an elaborately designed sandstone facade, which was built in 1904 for the building contractor Robert Paul Rischke.

The tenement house at Nürnberger Strasse 49 was built in 1904 for the building contractor Carl Heinrich Meißner and is characterized by the “restrained use” of later Art Nouveau forms.

Along Nürnberger Straße 13–31 / 10–28 west of the Nürnberger Ei there is a housing estate that is one of the largest of its kind in Dresden and is based on the Altmarkt development of the 1950s.

Since October 14, 2014, between Nürnberger Platz and Fritz-Foerster-Platz, the interim canteen Zeltschlösschen with 700 seats has been an alternative canteen for the Neue Mensa .

traffic

Bus route 61 on Nürnberger Straße

Nürnberger Straße begins at Nürnberger Platz , runs westwards through the western part of the Südvorstadt and turns into Zellescher Weg at Fritz-Foerster-Platz . As part of a tangent, Nürnberger Straße connects the B 170 in the east with the B 173 , the B 6 and the A 4 in the west, past the city center. The turning loop for tram line  8 of the Dresden public transport company is on the street in the Nürnberger Ei . The bus route 61, which is important for city traffic, runs the entire length of the street. The RVSOE bus route 333 connects the street with the main train station and the south-western area. Furthermore, there are far-reaching traffic plans for the expansion of local public transport and should be implemented after 2020: From the central tram stop at Drei-Kaiser-Hof in Löbtau , a continuation of the tram route over the Nossener Bridge and Nürnberger Straße to Nürnberger Platz is included Connection in the direction of the main train station planned, a further construction phase is to lead from Nürnberger Straße via Zellescher Weg to Dresden Strehlen S-Bahn station .
