A combi bus is a bus that can be used in both regular and occasional transport. He is therefore often referred to as a two-earner or double- earner.

The purpose of the concept is to ensure the daily use of the bus and thus a high level of profitability: on working days in regular service, mostly on overland routes , on weekends, public holidays and during school holidays, on the other hand, on excursions and bus trips. Combined buses therefore have license plates for both touring coaches and public transport buses. A quick change of passengers is desirable for regular service; Combined buses therefore have wider entrances and aisles as well as a lower passenger compartment floor than coaches, and they also usually have a destination display and stop buttons. For travel, on the other hand, the features taken over from the coach, such as comfortable seating, plenty of seats, luggage racks and a large underfloor trunk, are required. Since all these requirements have to be agreed with each other, the construction of a combi bus is a particular challenge. Well-known representatives of this type are the Setra MultiClass and ComfortClass models , the Mercedes-Benz Integro and Tourismo RH models, as well as the O 303 and O 404 , which are no longer available , the MAN Lion's Regio and the Neoplan models Transliner , Euroliner , Trendliner and Jetliner .
