Matzlesberg village chapel

The listed Roman Catholic village chapel Matzlesberg is located in the Matzlesberg district of the Upper Palatinate municipality of Pirk .

The chapel is at the end of the village by the Josef Rothballer estate. The chapel was built around 1900. The villagers use it as a place of worship for the Way of the Cross and Mary .

The chapel is a steep roof structure, 5.4 m long, 3.6 m wide and 4.7 m high. It has a roof turret , which is closed with an onion dome , and an apse closed on three sides .

In the interior there are four rows of benches on each side. There are 14 pictures of the Way of the Cross on the walls . The ceiling painting shows a Madonna and Child , above the altar is a representation of the Lamb of God . On the altar there is a crucifix , next to it the saints Joseph with the baby Jesus and Mary .
