Adolf Wolfgang Schuster (born June 8, 1919 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ; † May 7, 2004 there ) was a German lawyer and local researcher .

Life

School time and military service

Adolf Wolfgang Schuster was the son of an Upper Palatinate postal worker. His ancestors had lived as farmers and craftsmen in the Upper Palatinate for centuries.

Schuster attended elementary and secondary school in Weiden. After graduating from high school in 1937, he worked for the Reich Labor Service on the Waldnaab regulation in Hammerweg Weiden. He was then called up for military service and served until 1939 with the 41st Infantry Regiment in Amberg, with whom he went to war . He was wounded three times on the Eastern Front . Most recently he was a company commander .

Studies, exams and doctorates

In the hospital, Schuster began studying law at the University of Munich and the University of Erlangen . He passed his legal traineeship exam in 1947 and received his doctorate in 1949 on the subject of "Constitutional history of the city of Weiden in the Middle Ages and in the first centuries of modern times". The assessor exam followed in 1951 .

Professional development

From 1951 Schuster worked as a court assessor at the Weiden regional court and the Weiden, Neustadt an der Waldnaab and Tirschenreuth district courts . In 1953 he became a district judge , 1963 first public prosecutor and 1964 district court director. From December 1, 1971 to July 1, 1984 he was President of the Weiden District Court.

Activities and offices as local researcher

From 1949 to 1953, Schuster was deputy chairman of the Upper Palatinate Forest Association . From 1953 to 1956 he was chairman of the Weiden branch and until 1967 chief chairman of the Upper Palatinate Forest Club. In 1966 he initiated the German Hiking Day in Weiden.

Schuster published extensive writings on local history in the Upper Palatinate, which he carefully researched and documented, primarily in the Amberg archive, using certificates and original documents.
