The Protestant village church Ahrensdorf is a hall church in the district of Ahrensdorf of the municipality of Rietz-Neuendorf in the Oder-Spree district . It is a listed building.

History and architecture

A previous building of the church was built in the 13th to 14th centuries. It was rebuilt from 1713 to 1714 and fundamentally rebuilt in 1793. The church was enlarged to the east, a sacristy was added to the north and an extension used as an entrance area to the south. The stone altar was moved to the north side opposite the entrance area. Above the altar is the polygonal pulpit from the 18th century . Wooden galleries encompass all sides of the building with the exception of the north wall. The hexagonal cast iron baptism below the southern gallery was made in 1840.

To the west of the rectangular plastered nave is a half-timbered roof tower with two bells from 1819 and 1917, which has sound openings to the south and north. At its tip there is a ball and a weather vane. From 1993 to 1994 the church was extensively renovated and rededicated on September 18, 1994.
