Burkhardswalde village church (Müglitztal)
The Protestant village church Burkhardswalde is a late Gothic, baroque hall church in the district Burkhardswalde of the municipality of Müglitztal in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains in Saxony . It belongs to the parish of Heidenau-Dohna-Burkhardswalde in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony .
History and architecture
The Burkhardswalde village church is a hall church with a retracted choir, closed on three sides, from around 1523. A burial chapel is built on the north side, the north tower was added in 1752 according to the inscription and is closed with a hood and lantern . The obtuse ogival windows are provided with post-Gothic tracery . The interior is finished off with a flat plastered ceiling over a large cove , which probably dates from 1752. The two-storey galleries of the long walls lead to the choir; there is also the patronage box . The roof was renewed in the years 2008–2009.
Furnishing
A high quality wooden pulpit altar with a column structure and crowning glory of rays with the eye of providence as well as flame vases and flanking angel figures was created in 1764. The funeral chapel has an irregular floor plan and has two bays with a rib vault in the shape of a star on consoles. A heavy iron-studded door with six key locks from 1640 behind the altar opens up this chapel. A dugout chest was also made in 1640.
organ
The organ is a work by Johann Daniel Ranft from 1764 with 15 stops on two manuals and a pedal . After various alterations in 1887 by Jehmlich Orgelbau , it was restored in 1978 by Wilhelm Rühle . The disposition is:
