The Protestant village church Dobia is located in the Dobia district of the town of Zeulenroda-Triebes in the Greiz district in Thuringia . It belongs to the Pöllwitz-Schönbach parish in the Greiz parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The church is said to have been built by monks around 1150 . The chancel and chancel are set at 1200 . From 1400 there was an independent parish . In 1512, the carver Peter Breuer created the altar , which has since been rebuilt and only partially preserved . In 1820 Friedrich Wilhelm Trampeli built the organ .

During the Thirty Years War , the village and church are said to have burned down to the walls. In 1652 the church was rebuilt on the walls, as can be seen from church accounts. The windows were donated by donors named in the glass. The church tower was rebuilt from April 8, 1678 through donations and collections . The old bell could then be reattached.

After extensive construction work, an electric bell, a new tower clock and electric heating were installed.
