Egelsdorf village church
The Egelsdorf village church is located in the Egelsdorf district of the city of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .
history
The oldest parts of the church date from the pre-Reformation period, which can be recognized by the sacrament niche in the chancel . In 1684 the church tower was demolished because of the danger of collapse.
Renovation and renovation work in 1723 and 1774, including the old parts, gave the church its present-day appearance.
The interior is designed in the style of simple peasant baroque . With pastel colors, the church was carefully supplemented with elements from the 20th century without paintings on the galleries . The external staircase was removed and an internal staircase to the galleries was built. A heated winter church was created. In 2001 the rest of the painting work was carried out. The roof was also covered.
In 2010, the art glass maker Ekkehard Franke donated an artistically designed church window.
