Egelsdorf is a district of the city of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district ( Thuringia ).

geography

Egelsdorf is also located on the unwooded plateau in the foothills of the Thuringian Forest between Rinnetal in the north and Schwarzatal in the south at an altitude of about 600 meters above sea level, about one kilometer east of Dröbischau. The district road 134 connects the village with the state road 2389 for traffic.

history

On August 23, 1316, the first documentary mention of Egelsdorf was archived in the Paulinzella monastery record book under number 171. Both Egelsdorf and Döbrischau belonged to the possessions of the Counts of Schwarzburg ( Schwarzburg-Rudolstädter suzerainty ). Carter trade, weaving and oil and glassware trade as well as tourism were sources of income for these citizens in addition to a limited possible agricultural production. After the Second World War, the East German agricultural policy was introduced in the village .

On July 1, 1950, Egelsdorf was incorporated into Dröbischau. The place has been part of the city of Königsee since January 1, 2019.
